Diet Log: Day 47
I know anyone with a weight problem has been there. Yep, you know what I’m talking about. The “I’ll get back on track tomorrow, so I’ll eat what I want today” binge. The bad news is, you never change your eating habits this way. So far on this diet, my binging problem is about snacks. I’ve talked about this before, so clearly I have an issue. What’s the answer? I’m not entirely sure. But I’m going to start with measuring. I have said, more than once, that I’m going to snack bag all of my day snacks in advance. Maybe the night before so I’m not panicked in the morning before heading to the pool; or coming home from the pool and just grabbing something. I know creating healthier eating habits doesn’t happen over night. It’s a gradual process that takes time. So here I go … renewing my commitment to take my eating habits one day at a time. And allow myself some flexibility on the weekends or at special events. I suppose there will always be times when I want to eat a little extra. Must try to keep it under control! And keep tracking.
I do find it harder to binge or cheat when I’m logging my food into My Fitness Pal.
And obviously, discussing it here. Airing my mistakes and challenges. I was thinking back to when I lost a substantial amount of weight five years ago. What did I do differently? I was considerably more conscientious about keeping record of my day. Not electronically, but more like a check-off system. So, I think I’m going to reinstitute that part of the plan. I’m thinking I may need to do a better job, over all, and this will help. Print the menus each month, mark off each thing throughout the day, monitor where I have problems … Accountability!
P.S. I had a vigorous game of both-hands tennis on the wii yesterday. It was exhausting, and that’s just plain funny. My right hand is the reigning champion.
Already hit my 2510 steps today, thanks to shopping. Hmmm … motivation for shopping? 🙂
