My days have run into each other … and my diet has taken a derailment. I failed miserably at this whole I’ll-stay-on-my-diet concept in DC.
I seem to have had the sense to start out the morning well, but couldn’t stay the course throughout the rest of the day. But I’m not going to beat myself up about this. I’m also not going to weigh on Monday. Frankly, I don’t want to make myself feel worse about it than I already do. I thought I could manage a bit better. Part of the problem is simply the availablility of stuff I shouldn’t have. Every meal, every break, every social … food. Okay, not just food, but tempting yummy stuff. Entrees, sides, and treat … most of which are fattening. I did put in a lot of lettuce whenever possible, so I guess that’s something, right?
As punishment, I had a terrible dinner last night. Crab cakes, that were NOT yummy. A salad – okay. And (I hang my head) apple pie a la mode. The only salvation? – a wonderful visit with some very dear friends who live in the DC area. Made it all worthwhile! I’ll just have to own the food debacle for the week.
So what now? Get immediately back on track when I get home. As I said, I’m not going to weigh on Monday. What I am going to do is jump back on the plan with a vengeance. Time to reassert my intent!!
