Can it have been this long since I last blogged? I was so determined to outline our life in regular little posts… hmmm, so much for well-laid plans.
Now here we are, 19 months since our move to Arizona. We love in a beautiful community. My brother is just a few minutes away. We are friendly with our neighbors. But honestly, we still have our ups and downs. We love the house, we LOVE the pool, we love the mild temps of autumn and winter, of course, and we love having everything on one level, including the garage. We have a great house layout and a beautiful guest Casita. But we also really miss the city. We miss our condo life and the lovely weather of spring and summer in the Rockies. I am definitely not a fan of residing in an oven! Seriously, summers simply roasts your person from the moment you step outside. It makes me grumpy, and it never goes away. You know those lovely summer evenings when the temps dip and you open the window for some fresh air? Nope, not here. It’s just hot… morning, noon and night. This year the 100+ temps lasted well in to October. Ugh!
We made the effort to go to Colorado for the month of August. Stayed in a very cute older home in Windsor. We had a wonderful 75th birthday party for Carol, had visits from so many friends and family, which was absolutely wonderful, and really enjoyed our relaxing time away. But because of my health limitations, the travel, both coming and going, was really challenging. I may go into more detail some time, but suffice to say that nothing is easy when you’re older and broken. Top that off with a trip and fall in our hotel room on the way home… and we decided that it’s unlikely we will do that kind of trip again.
It took several weeks to heal from the fall. I still have one bruise that is not gone yet. And then there’s today… well, today I am covered with some ridiculous rash, had to have four skin biopsies and I’m itching to beat all. Hmmm… this post is just a lot of whining, apparently. Sorry… honestly I’m not sure who I’m apologizing to as it may be that no-one will read this. And that’s okay, too. Just putting it out there because it makes be feel a bit better. 😉 That’s probably not the right reason to blog… ah well… more later.
