Reboot

I can’t believe we are 109 days from travel. How is that possible? My last post was nearly a month ago. I’ve probably lost any and all followers by now … but I’m still here, and still working away at weight loss.

I’ve had a rough month which included the worst cold EVER, endless coughing, and an inability to stay on track with much of anything. Couple that with two trips to Wyoming, a presentation in California, and no pool time … well, I got pretty worn out.

Anyway … more than once recently, I’ve had people express “sympathy” that I wasn’t able to lose weight for my trip. So here’s the thing, I HAVE lost weight. 40 lbs to be exact. It’s not the 80 I planned to have off by now and I acknowledge that. But it’s something. And yes, I AM worried about the trip, about walking long distances, about pain management. But I also still have three months to keep working on it. I went back to the pool at the end of last week, and will go back to the  4 days a week plan. I’ll keep eating smart and tracking my calories and exercise.

So here are the positives … I’m down one size and sometimes two (depending on the brand), I’m under the dreaded 300, I “fit” places more easily, and I generally have less discomfort. I do still worry about going to new places, what will the chairs be like, is there close parking, etc. So you can imagine my concerns for France.

In addition to my commitment to working on better health and less weight in order to travel more easily, I also know that I can ultimately get all this weight off. And I may have to continue working on that for many months after a joyous 15 days in France, but I’ll get there.
