Day 195 – Girl Talk

Yes, it’s time for “girl talk” – so any of you guy readers may want to turn away. Or read, and laugh.

If you’re a “big” girl and you’ve ever lost 20+ pounds, this will look familiar:

Your boobs quietly disappear, while that stupid tire around your waist and hips just hangs on for dear life. My clothes are the proof of this – including my ill-fitting swimsuits (of which I have many). And exercises targeted at the middle are not things I can actually do … I can’t do crunches, I can’t do sit-ups, I can’t really bend at the waist much without some level of pain. IT’S FRUSTRATING!! I haven’t made any clothing purchases because I want to get another 20 or so off before I buy clothes. Swimsuits are a whole other problem … all I want is a crinkle suit, chlorine resident, black … in my size. Seriously, this should not be hard. I have about 10 suits in waiting but they begin one full size smaller than I need right now. I sort of stayed at a size for a while then went from there, skipped a size, and moved on. Errrr. And don’t get me started on bras and panties.

Speaking of frustrating, let’s talk about how I decided to go to the pool this morning (normally my day off from the pool). I re-arranged my schedule. Dr’s appointment at 9:30, acupuncture moved to Friday. Everything in its place … except for the alarm I forgot to set. So … I slept in … and decided to go to the pool AFTER the doctor. I had a good swim, but it was just weird to be there at a different time. No-one to chat with – and we already know how long it is when I’m in the lane alone. However, it was also a VERY crowded pool – I had to cross through senior aerobics to get to my lane. LOTS of seniors. Three people swimming in the diving well and folks in every lane. It was loud and unfamiliar. I’m such a little creature of habit.

Ah well.
