Day 126 – Just Keeping On

Sorry about the whining yesterday. Truth be told, I feel a bit like blogging gives me license to whine, babble, rant, affirm, research, compare, think, shout, cry, and emote. It makes for a busy writing project!

We are 386 days from take-off – if I had a tail, it would be wagging! I know it doesn’t make a great deal of sense, but even though I’m in pain, can’t walk enough, and am not losing weight nearly as fast as I had hoped … I’m REALLY excited to go on the trip. I visit the cruise website with far too much frequency. I take the visual tour about every 10 days. I have photos of the stateroom on my computer (and now you do, too – see below). Our suite has two rooms, sitting and bedroom (we’ll have twin beds) and a French balcony, a private bath, full-size veranda, and floor-to-ceiling windows. We even get a daily fruit basket and bottled water every day. The room is not huge, but then we probably won’t spend a lot of time there. We do have some television … BBC, CNN, National Geographic, and TNT are their highlight channels. But, of course, I will have my iPad and free wi-fi, so I can watch Prime or Netflix (I’m pathetic and have a TV addiction). The rest of the longship is pretty cool, too. Many places to sit and enjoy the beautiful sites. There’s al fresco dining on the upper deck. Can’t wait.

And don’t think I haven’t thought about food on this trip! Of course I have. Cruises always mean too much food. But Europe also has a different sense of serving size and meal options. So, I think this won’t be as big a problem as one might imagine. And you’re wondering why I’m worrying about this now, more than a year away from travel? Who knows … I worry. I just do. I was born to it!

As for things in diet land here at home? A very good day of taking small departures from the plan, but making really good healthy choices. I started the day right on target – pre-breakfast apple, cereal for breakfast, no morning snack (because we were shopping for Carol’s reno selections), a piece of left-over pizza for lunch, midday popcorn snack, fish/veggie/salad for dinner, and I’m going to have a bit of frozen yogurt for my evening snack.

Calories today: 1220

Steps today: 2,450 (I’ll try to get to 3,000 before bed time)

Sleep last night: 8 hrs 26 minutes

Speaking of sleep – did I mention that I’m trading in my new bed for a different new bed with an ergo base. In the store, I nearly fell asleep when the bed was in Zero-G position – right there in the store. I can’t wait!!
