Day 129 – Warm and Partly Cloudy

The title entry applies to the weather and my day!

I had to stay home form the pool in order to have my old bed carted away (*see below). They arrived on the spot at 7:00 AM. We had already dismantled the whole thing yesterday – picture us happily struggling with a far-too-heavy bed … into ten, still heavy pieces. Anyway, they were appreciative that we did the prep work and got it loaded and out the door in 15 minutes.

Next … waiting for the new bed arrival. You’ll recall from my bed saga that this has NOT been easy. But thanks to Denver Mattress, the new bed arrived at 8:30 AM. Took a little longer than the one going out the door, but I’m happy to report that I have a brand new ergo bed frame and Serta iComfort mattress with plush top. I CAN HARDLY WAIT TO GO TO BED!!! (too many exclamations?) If you’ve never tried an ergo bed in the zero-G position – you are missing out!

But with all the taking beds apart and moving stuff and trying to put things away and making the new bed and getting my lamps to an outlet and cleaning and working at the computer … well, you get the picture … I tweaked something. Oy. Extra Aleve at bedtime for me!

In dieting world, though, a very good day. You eat less when you’re really busy. I did sneak a couple of Carol’s tortilla chips. Alright, I didn’t actually sneak, I put my plate out like a little beggar. And she’s too kind to say no. With all of the going-ons today, I’ve also passed 3000 steps. I like it when it happens without my thinking about it.

** A side-bar to my first paragraph. If you live somewhere that has the “Junk Kings” (a haul-away company), use them! This was the best experience. They attempt to donate your usable items to charitable organizations like habitat for Humanity, Arc, or Goodwill. These two young men were polite, clean, and very careful (and strong). It was a relatively inexpensive and easy way to get my old bed out the door.
